Quinine sulfate dihydrateUsage
Quinine sulfate is a quinoline derivative that binds to the DNA of Plasmodium and forms a complex that inhibits DNA replication and RNA transcription, thereby inhibiting protozoal protein synthesis, which is weaker than chloroquine. It is suitable for falciparum malaria caused by chloroquine and multi-drug resistant strains. It can also be used to treat vivax malaria. For asthma, atrial fibrillation and other serious heart conditions, patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency and women’s menstrual period should be used with caution. Pregnant women are banned.
