1. Used to produce various esters. Methyl isobutyrate has apricot aroma, propyl isobutyrate has pineapple flavor, isoamyl isobutyrate has banana flavor, octyl isobutyrate has grape flavor, and benzyl isobutyrate has grassy fragrance.
