How to identify Benzoyl peroxide?
Take 0.2g of the sample in the test tube, add 7ml of chloroform, shake it thoroughly and let it stand. There should be white insoluble residue at the bottom Add 2ml of 4,4L-diaminodiphenylamine in ethanol, the liquid and insoluble matter should be blue-green.
Benzoyl peroxide Application

Mainly used as polymerization initiator for PVC and polyacrylonitrile and crosslinking agent for unsaturated polyester and acrylate. It is used as a crosslinking agent for silicone rubber and fluororubber in the rubber industry. It can also be used as bleaching agent and oxidizing agent in chemical production.
As a flour quality improver, it has bactericidal effect and strong oxidation effect, and can bleach flour. China stipulates only for wheat flour, the maximum usage is 0.06g / kg.
Benzoyl peroxide is the most widely used initiator in the adhesive industry. It is used for solvent polymerization of acrylate and vinyl acetate, and graft polymerization of neoprene, natural rubber, SBS and methyl methacrylate. Initiator for curing of unsaturated polyester resins and organic glass adhesives.
Verification of formaldehyde and cholesterol. The characterization of aromatic amines. Preparation of embedding medium for electron microscope. Oxidant. Plastic polymerization catalyst. Curing agent, cross-linking agent. Bleaching agents for fats, oils and waxes.

Protective measures

The production site should be ventilated, and protective clothing and safety goggles should be worn during operation to reduce skin contact and eye irritation. In places where powdered or granular benzoyl peroxide may be airborne, or liquid or paste benzoyl peroxide may splash or overflow, a protective mask or mask must also be worn.
Protective clothing should be fireproof. It is recommended not to use any fabric that generates static electricity. To prevent the accumulation of static electricity, appropriate conductive shoes should be worn. When packing or carrying pure benzoyl peroxide, workers should wear gloves made of rubber, leather or other suitable materials. When loading and unloading benzoyl peroxide and its components, it is recommended to use rubber or other suitable materials to make the apron to strengthen the protection. Do not use plastic apron that may generate static electricity.
Workers whose skin is contaminated should quickly rinse with water and wash with soap; work clothes should be replaced every day if they may be contaminated; if contaminated work clothes are contaminated, take off quickly.
