Tetramethylammonium chloride Usage
Tetramethylammonium chloride is a phase transfer catalyst in organic synthesis. It has stronger catalytic activity than triphenylphosphine and triethylamine. It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature. , Soluble in water and hot ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform.
Decomposes to trimethylamine and methyl chloride when heated to above 230 ℃. The lethal dose (mouse, abdominal cavity) is 25 mg / kg.
Tetramethylammonium chloride is also used in the synthesis of liquid crystal epoxy compounds, polarographic and pop analysis, electronics industry, etc.
