Minoxidil production method
Cyclization and chlorination of methyl cyanoacetate give 4-chloro-2,6-diaminopyrimidine (see 08910), which is then oxidized with perbenzoic acid to obtain 6-amino-1,2-dihydro-1- Hydroxy-2-imino-4-chloropyrimidine (C4H5CIN4O) is finally condensed with hexahydropyridine to obtain melamine.
