Description of Coconut oil

Oil with a sweet nutty flavour. Has an abrupt melting range from an almost flaky malleable solid at or below 21°C to a liquid at 27°C. Made from the dried flesh of the coconut (Cocos nuci fera) which is mechanically pressed to produce crude oil, then refined, decoloured and deodorised to remove free fatty acids, phospholipids, colours, odours and other non-oily substances.
