What is cellulose acetate butyrate?
The hydroxyl group in the cellulose molecule is a cellulose ester formed by co-esterification of acetic acid and butyric acid. It is a thermoplastic resin with 12% -15% acetyl groups and 26% -39% butyryl groups. Transparent to opaque white particles, density 1.15-1.22, melting temperature 140 ℃, long-term use temperature 60-104 ℃. Good toughness, weather resistance, cold resistance and electrical insulation, easy to process.
Cellulose acetate butyrate Usage
This product can be used to make oil-resistant and gasoline-resistant packaging film, photosensitive film base, infusion pipeline, automobile steering wheel and other parts, cable and wire coating, road signs, lamps, transparent drawing board, etc.
Treat cellulose with acetic acid or butyric acid, and then esterify with a mixture of acetic acid, acetic anhydride, butyric acid and butyric anhydride under the catalysis of sulfuric acid.
