2,2′-bis(diphenylphosphine)-1,1′-binaphthalene and its rhodium and ruthenium derivatives can be used as highly selective homogeneous catalysts for aryl ketones, β-keto esters and Reduction of α-amino ketone.
It can also be used for asymmetric hydrogenation and hydroformylation of olefins, asymmetric Heck reaction and asymmetric isomerization of allyl groups.
Ligands for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric tandem Heck reaction. This carbanion trapping process can synthesize tricyclic sesquiterpenes.
