BiVO4 with a white tungsten ore structure (single oblique crystal system) exhibits excellent catalytic activity under visible light illumination, has higher oxygen production activity than the typical photocatalyst WO3 (band gap 2.8eV), and can reach 9% quantum efficiency at 450 nm. This makes BiVO4 more and more important in the field of visible light catalysis.
