  • Fluorosilicic acid and hexafluorosilicic acid are inorganic compounds with the chemical formula H2SiF6, which exist only in solution. Pure H2SiF6 is unstable and easily decomposes to form HF and SiF4. H2SiF6 is a by-product of the reaction between fluorapatite and sulfuric acid. Fluorosilicic acid solution contains hexafluorosilicate ion (SiF62-) in octahedral structure with Si-F bond length of 1.71Å.
