The product was approved in 2012 under the trade name AltreGyn for simultaneous oestrus in horses and pigs, and to regulate batch production rhythms in pigs.
What’s the application of aviglycine hydrochloride?
In clinical practice, tetraenestrol is mainly used to regulate the oestrus cycle in pigs and horses, to promote concurrent oestrus and to maintain pregnancy, and to a lesser extent in other animals such as cheetahs, zebra cats, zebras and dolphins. By acting on progesterone receptors in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, tetraenoestrone produces negative feedback regulation, inhibiting the secretion of the gonadotropins follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), thereby blocking oestrus and ovulation in female animals and regulating the oestrus cycle.
